Q: How do I know what kind of system I have in my home?
A: If you have vents in your home (including registers in the floor)
then you have a Hot Air system. If your home has baseboards or radiators,
your system is either hot water or steam.
Q: What do I look for in a replacement heating system?
A: High efficiency, reliability, ease of service and maintenance.
TGO Mechanical is uniquely qualified to help guide our clients with
expert advice and guidance in choosing the best replacement heating
system for their individual needs.
Q: How often should I have my heating system serviced?
A: For optimal functioning and safety of any heating or air conditioning
system, it is best to have the system checked at least one time
per year. This will ensure safety, and reliable performance as well
as lower your fuel bills.
Q: How do I make my heating system more efficient?
A: There are many things you can do to increase the efficiency of
your heating and cooling systems. Here are a few suggestions:
• Annual maintenance by a HVAC professional.
• Consider more advanced control systems such as "Outdoor Reset",
"Indoor Reset" and "Cycle Limiters". (ASK US
for more information on these terms.)
• For air conditioning, consider replacing your existing system
with "Higher Seer". ASK US for more information on these
terms.)
Q: Can I combine different types of heating systems in my home,
since I'm doing construction of an addition or other renovation?
A: In most cases, systems can be mixed. Example: Say you have a
hot water baseboard and you're renovating the kitchen to be expanded
into the spare bedroom next to it so that it all becomes one large
space. You would have the option to remove the baseboard from the
renovated space, install radiant floor heating and create a new
zone that will control it.
Systems can often be integrated easily. TGO Mechanical specializes
in integrating systems for the greatest efficiency and comfort for
your home. Call us to discuss solutions for your heating and air
conditioning situation. We're sure we can offer the right solution.
